About the Organization:

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. Anchored by a network of 194 affiliated professors at universities around the world, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty. J-PAL South Asia, based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research in India, leads J-PAL’s work in the South Asia region. J-PAL South Asia conducts randomized evaluations, builds partnerships for evidence-informed policymaking, and helps partners scale up effective programs. Over more than ten years of existence, J-PAL South Asia has conducted 193 ongoing and completed randomized evaluations.

 

Job Summary:

The Senior Associate will support the design and execution of the organization’s learning strategy to strengthen employee capability and growth. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, the role will coordinate onboarding programs, employee development initiatives, and the implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs), while developing learning content and managing training programs. The role will also provide limited support to HR operations, particularly in onboarding coordination and employee lifecycle processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

● Support the execution of the organization’s Learning & Development strategy, translating capability priorities into structured learning initiatives and programs.

● Coordinate and manage employee development programs, including Associate Development Programs and Manager Development Programs, ensuring strong participation and learning outcomes.

● Develop and update learning modules, toolkits, and training content, particularly in areas such as leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and professional effectiveness.

● Curate and integrate diverse learning resources (articles, books, videos, and external courses) into accessible learning pathways for employees.

● Support the rollout and tracking of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to enable employees and managers to set structured development goals.

● Manage the learning calendar and training operations, including scheduling sessions, coordinating facilitators, and tracking participation and feedback.

● Monitor and analyze learning data and feedback to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement of learning initiatives.

● Provide operational HR support for employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding coordination, documentation, and maintaining HR records and systems.

● Partner with HR and internal teams to drive employee engagement and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

 

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

● 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, HR, or organizational development roles.

● Strong project management and coordination skills.

● Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to develop structured learning content and programs.

● Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

● Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or HR portals is preferred.

● Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
